Updated: year after purchase: Was 4 stars, now 1. When it works everything is great. The problem is that it randomly blocks without any warning, reason or notice, resulting in calls not being recorded, completely destroying its value. Luckily I also bought the Asurion 2 year protection and hopefully can replace it with a protection that doesn't block and works all the time. At first I thought it might be a power outage since I have a whole house surge protector and the unit is also plugged into the surge protector. So I put the batteries in, hooked it up to mains power and also hooked it up to the UPS. But it still blocks randomly. My final straw is that I needed a call recording from last week and wanted to get it, but the device was locked so the call wasn't recorded. Although it's practically the only one, I'd go with the other.
