Has a slight odor so you need to let it air out for a week. I love the thickness and feel of this pillow, but unfortunately not as a cooling pad! The cooling feeling is the same as a bamboo pillow, but if you put this pillow in front of a fan or air conditioner, it will be very cold. It has a cooling factor, just not as strong as I would expect for the price. The holes in it keep you cool compared to regular pillows. After 2 weeks of using the pad, the blue cooling side started peeling off. In the picture, the blue side appears to be half of the pillow, but it isn't. There the blue side is lightly sprayed. Not worth the price if the cooling side in the lid peels off when you sleep. However, the feel, thickness and air holes of this pillow are very pleasant. I just expected better quality for what I paid for it.
