It says it's a 3 inch hole but it's actually slightly larger. You think you can sand it down quickly or use a file, but it still takes time to get what you want. Just buy a slightly larger hole saw. 3 inches just isn't enough. The product sometimes gets hot. I wouldn't say it's going to be hot, but it's definitely going to be warmer than you think. I installed mine on the bottom shelf of my coffee table and am generally very happy with it. No more long cables running across the room to charge phones and tablets. Everything is right here on the coffee table. I would buy it again if I were to buy another table
