Bought first for mountain bike and very impressed. Very strong and only $11-$12. I have ridden a lot of miles very aggressively on a long travel enduro and it has been absolutely reliable. Once I crashed and my phone was dead, but it's not my fault. Some may argue that having the phone pop out in an accident is better than staying locked and trying so hard to break the phone. My cell phone and the holder were not damaged in my accident. I usually ride without a bag, but I just carry a cheap mountain bike bag. It's a little awkward getting the phone out to take photos of the view, especially when climbing, but it's possible and I do it often. For the price I can't complain and I don't want to spend a lot more on something that may or may not work. Got a second one for my road bike. I like to mount mine so the phone is over the stem and on my road bike the plastic bar guards didn't fit. I have aluminum bars, which I don't really care about, but if you're installing a center mount and don't want to scratch the bars, this might not work. Stick soft stickers on the 4 contact points to protect and hold your phone in place. I bought a second one for my road bike because it's great for Strava and any maps you want to look at.
