Review on Upgrade Your Leather Crafting with the Hilitand Leather Edge Dye Pen - Black by Kelly Caballes

I used one of the tapered edge colored pencils and while they worked reasonably well they didn't roll smoothly and on very smooth edges they slipped, didn't flip. This pen works great. Very smooth reel movement and never stops spinning. The paint adheres to the ribbed surface and rolls smoothly over it. The only problem I had was that after a while the shaft came loose from the roller bearing in the grip. I used a hearing gun to heat the brass tip and disassemble the handle. There is a small bearing with a lock nut that has loosened over time. A quick fix was to put a dab of Loctite on the nut and reassemble the handle. I don't expect it to ever get weaker again. Highly recommend this when using edge paint on your leather goods.
