This machine is definitely made for heavy use! I am impressed with the even seam. My company Janeyandnell.com makes handmade bags. I keep switching from fabric to leather stitching in a project. This machine doesn't skip a single stitch or lose stitch quality when sewing thin material into 4 layers of soft leather! I keep the thread tension just over 4 for an evenly tight stitch. I also use a universal thread for further use with all materials. With leather, I don't need a thicker thread because of the machine quality. The price of this machine is amazing! Lots of extra legs and gadgets for sewing all your crafts or hobbies. I have a juki for extra sewing and embroidery. To be honest I use this machine more for the quality of the sequential stitch. I rarely have to change needles either. I used the same universal needle that came with the machine for different projects and thicknesses of material. I highly recommend this machine for all fabric and leather/wallet quality related projects. This is definitely a workhorse!
