Review on ๐ŸŒฒ Clorox Wood Clothespins with Spring: 50 Pack โ€“ Rust Resistant, Heavy-Duty Coil, Non-Slip Grip for Laundry, Crafts & More by Robert Rasmussen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Better quality than the average "dollar store " but I'm still looking for a replacement for my old pens.

Today at my local Target I found a pack of 50 pins for $2 with change. Save money and get it. No tangible differences. Read on if you want to know my reasons: I've spent a lot of time looking for a good quality clothespin with a spring strong enough to hold heavy objects on a clothesline, and I refuse to pay ridiculous amounts of money to spend for clothespins made to order / lifetime guarantee in the wood shop. I bought these based on the pictures in the description and the use of the term "heavyweight" in the description - a pack of 30 for only $5. These pens, like all recently mass-produced pens, are similar, identical in size and quality. Unfortunately, so-so performance for attaching clothes to a clothesline, especially in windy conditions. The difference between my "old" pens and the newer pens is the thickness of the wire used in the spring. They use wire with a diameter of 1.4 mm. My old contacts use 1.8mm wire. It doesn't matter if the wire is formed into 3, 5 or 6 turns as the movement of the spring arms is minimal. The only thing the coils do is support the full width of the wooden arms so they stay parallel and prevent the pen from "exploding" under load, although my experience hasn't been great when the wind is blowing. See pictures.
