Not sure about some of the complaints about this thread, I love it! I'm new to embroidering, so I was a little worried about some of the complaints about the thread unwinding easily and creating knots, but I haven't had a single problem. It does unwind a little, but I just use that to thread the machine. Once the ring is pushed firmly against the spool and the thread is wound through the machine, it doesn't continue to unwind. Also, there is not a notch in the spool to catch it after you have finished using it, but you can simply take off the cap on the end and pull the end of your thread through the center hole and recap the spool. That holds the thread in place for storage.Thread can get expensive and this was the best price for a product just as good as any other. Someone gave me some more expensive embroidery thread from the craft store and this thread is just as good as the more expensive stuff. I would definitely buy from them again.
