I removed the handlebars from my 1972 BMW R73/5. I was definitely missing a block, but that's a story for another day. One way or another I overtightened the screw and here we are. i need a solution I thought it was worth it for the price. Hail Mary. I ordered the set and it arrived today. I pulled out my cordless drill and found that the hole was exactly the same size as the M5 drill, so no drilling was necessary. I quickly realized there wasn't a threading tool, so I attached it to a cordless drill (make sure it was straight) and carefully threaded the hole. I then attached one of the inserts to the tool that came with it and stuck it right into the hole. Finally I found the M5 screw and it screwed in perfectly. It is finished.
