This is NATO Black with standard gauge nylon. I bought a 17mm strap for a vintage Caravelle watch that I bought. The strap itself is everything you would expect from a nylon NATO strap. This is the default black color and since it's nylon it doesn't fade much. The hardware is pretty good. Stainless buckles and holders are quite good. In short, he will do what he has to do. When I put it on my watch and put it on for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that it fits me perfectly and isn't too long. I usually have to cut the length and melt the end with a match or lighter. This could be a problem for you. I have a 6 1/2" wrist (small side) so if you have a large wrist this won't work for you. Even with a medium sized wrist accessing the second goalie can be difficult. Great price for me. Definitely for a smaller wrist size.
