This shift knob screws perfectly onto my 2017 Tacoma SR shifter. No "lock nut" is required. Simply place the knob on the shifter shaft and turn the knob until it stops. The only adjustment required was to use a rubber bushing to hold the shift boot in place. A nice improvement over the OEM Tacoma shift knob.
