Review on 🍲 Cambro 2-Quart Round Food Storage Container Set of 3 with Lid by Christie Cox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for baking bread!

I ordered these when I received the book Flour, Water, Salt, Yeast from Ken Forkish who recommended this size for fermenting Pulish, Biga and Levein. They're big enough for these plants and I could probably get by with 4 liters. However, these containers are good for the following reasons: the translucent (slightly hazy) color is still transparent and costs half of transparent ones. The lids are very tight but not airtight, allowing the dough to easily expand for rising/proofing. Has a very smooth surface for easy mixing and cleaning. has no "oily" stains, although first impressions would suggest so, until you wash it to find out. Very durable and doesn't scratch (unless you use metal utensils, which is unacceptable for plastic anyway). And the red mark for 2-4-6 measurements on the side lets you quickly estimate the volume as the dough rises. Comes with two sets, one for pre-ferment use and the other for 1.5 bags (5 pounds) of flour. . The recipes in the book usually call for 1000g of flour. So if I use enough flour for a recipe, I can keep the rest of the bag and another whole bag in the container. Or just order the 8qt White and Whole Grain Storage Set (or whatever you use most often) with two 5lb bags and a scoop. Reusable containers for baking bread. I absolutely love her and highly recommend her!
