This is a fantastic flashlight from Amscope, no doubt the quality is top notch. It is bright, evenly illuminated and almost shadow-free. This makes it ideal for a microscope. In my experience, the light is also white at around 6200K, i.e. very white. When soldering printed circuit boards, strong reflections from the solder can sometimes occur. If it were at 5000k it would be ideal for soldering. The adjustable switch is a plus if you want to dim it a bit. It's not too bulky, it's the perfect size for me. The quality of the LED screams and it shows when compared to the cheaper LED ring light you can find for half the price on Amazon. You get what you pay for. I think it will last for many years without losing its brightness. I'm taking off a star because it comes with a cheap plastic adapter. There is no way to keep it on the microscope. Even a small smack would be enough to knock him off the microscope. There is a metal version of this ring adapter from amscope that is listed on Amazon for around $20 and is also made by Amscope. I bought it immediately and although it was expensive it was worth it. It is made of thick metal and has a very good weight. It would be 5 stars if they included this metal ring adapter in this light. However, this is a premium LED flashlight.
