I bought this specifically to use with an espresso pot as the base of the pot is too small to place on the stove. This is perfect for my espresso pot. It took a little longer than I thought to heat up. Now I know what to expect. *IMPORTANT* The outer chrome edges are not coated with heat resistant metal (like on toasters) and it's very easy to burn yourself even if you're careful. I've burned myself twice so be careful when buying. KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN.
