This is a personal choice of my high school student. Nothing special, but nothing extraordinary either. It's a bit misleading that the time/calendar setting is in the same cyclical cycle with the time, alarm and stopwatch modes, but there seems little chance of accidentally changing the time setting. Setting the time to zero seconds (round down if <30, round up if >=30) works fine. Since there is no year setting, I think it needs to be adjusted manually for leap years. Adjusting the length of the metal strap is a little tricky, but not overly difficult. I wish there was an easy way to remove extra belt links.
