This is leather (but the leather is a bit thin). We have just received the shoe. In general the quality is good. The strap is NOT a button, but a velcro fastener, which cannot be seen in the picture. My daughter is a size 1 which was a US 2.5 but she fits VERY tight so a size 3 fits this shoe better for her (usually) size 1 foot.
- Rubber outsole is softer and more comfortable for children
