Although this device was designed for a surfboard I looked at the design features and decided to buy a rod/reel harness for my rather expensive fishing rod . I recently lost both and saw them sunk in the lake (can't dive that deep to get them). If I had had this harness I would not have seen it fly over the side and fall to the bottom of the lake. ride the boat the way I wanted as long as my rod/reel was in the holder. No tangles, it turns very well and I've run the boat over 6ft with no worries. NO reel tangles, no tension and everything was back on their original compact reels when I returned to my rod/reel to continue fishing. Although very unusual, tying this device to my ankle did not cause any discomfort. If anyone is looking for a very reliable and comfortable rod/reel line, get one, you won't be disappointed.
