Review on Salomon Outline GTX Hiking Shoes by Joseph Redding

Revainrating 4 out of 5

narrow - my new rating

They must be wide. My feet are happy with old Keen shoes. They don't make them that wide anymore and the sole is terribly thin. So I'm trying to find a new favorite brand. Unfortunately, even the wide version of these shoes is not wide enough. You feel very comfortable. They are very well padded, no pressure points, just too tight. The length seems to fit, I wear 8W on Clarks unstructured, 8W on Merrell, but other than that I'm comfortable in 8.5W and they really seem to fit 8.5 in length. The materials seem to be of good quality, the price was mid-range for this type of shoe. The sole felt grippy, but I've only tried them indoors. They left an ungodly amount of marks on the laminate. Unfortunately I have to send them back.

Pros
  • Ortholite footbed for exceptional cushioning
Cons
  • They may not be suitable for people with other foot conditions.
