This is my second item! I messed up the first one by putting it in the dishwasher and it warped to one side. Otherwise, the durability is great! It's heavy so I often drop it in the morning before drinking too much and it's LONG LASTING! Not leak proof, if you leave the straw open and unlocked it will leak through the air hole, but that happens with all cups, it should be there. But for that you need a cap and a lock to hold the straw. That's great! That's a great cover too. I just sit and watch the lid open and close without realizing it and when I do I realize I need water so I have a drink and then pick it up and fidget around a bit more. Haha, so I'm fidgeting and drinking a lot more, haha. Love the soft top for spout, the lock on top is very handy and being able to choose between picking it up by the strap or the side handle is great. I had a bad injury at lunch and too much weight on my finger makes it flare up and this strap is big enough to hold my whole hand, so nice! Others have rigid handles and comfortably fit as many fingers inside. That's great. It cannot be washed in the dishwasher, this is my second. I think the ONLY WAY to damage them, even with regular use, is to put them in the dishwasher, they will warp to one side of you. So it's a bummer. I add dish soap every few days, shake well and rinse. I had no problems and didn't need a brush to clean it as I use it all day, every day so it always has fresh water in it.
