Review on OUTLIFE Lightweight Resistant Mountaineering Backpack by Jerry Delic

Good lightweight backpack for the price

I bought this backpack for a 3 day hike. I was able to fit everything I needed and keep it to 35 pounds with water, food and essentials. The backpack worked well, but I wish a few things were different or improved: 1. I carried my hydration bladder in a "laptop bag", I don't see the appeal of a laptop bag in a travel backpack. I would have liked a thinner pocket to hold the bottle in place and a slit for the hose exit, I ended up cutting a small slit to accommodate the hose.2. The shoulder straps don't have enough padding, probably resulting in a lightweight pack, but for trips longer than a few days, I would have liked something softer and more supportive3. Castles are questionable. Many are difficult to open and unzip, the bottom pocket zipper broke on the road on the first day, not revealing, but definitely not perfect.4. The side pockets, meant for storing water bottles or whatever, are deep and secured with a belt, but they don't flex at all, so there's a risk of tearing. They also compete with the rest of the package for their rigidity.5. Finally, there are very few places to attach items to the outside, or even external pockets for quick access. Love the hip pockets and the brain pocket was roomy and easily accessible even with a backpack (I have long arms!). We didn't have any rain so can't comment on how rainproof it is but just in case I brought my poncho. Overall I was happy with the backpack, it weighed almost half the weight of my friends empty backpacks so that's a huge bonus! It survived the ride and I will use it again.
