See that cheap broken plastic safety breaker? Just rubbish.

UPDATE - I changed 4 stars to 1 star. I'm once again the proud owner of a kitchen appliance that I need to replace AGAIN. At least my Black and Decker has lasted over 15 years. So the engine lock safety interrupt is made out of cheap, flimsy, brittle plastic. I don't think I'll bother replacing it as it's such a profitable design that in a few years I'll just have to replace it again. HOWEVER, when a company does something this crappy and sloppy, I give them a chance to get it right, and when they don't; I put them on my never buy forever list. Just take a look. As you can see below, my wife won't miss it anyway. Expensive devices can no longer be bought despite desired functions. I just can't afford to replace scrap every few years. ------------------ I give 4 stars. However, my wife doesn't like it. She says it's too big, bulky and difficult to use. I suspect she will like it more over time. But one of the main reasons I bought this device is because she doesn't like it. So; sealed above. The green thing is a rubber seal that prevents liquid from leaking out. Combined with this feature, there is no typical hole in the center of the bowl that would allow the liquid to drain out in this way. It's just a sealed spindle in the center that the blade slides on. I love this full bowl, no spill feature and recently used it to make a massive batch of gazpachos. In fact, we no longer need a mixer for most applications. While the unit has suction cups that keep it fairly stable while in use, those suction cups also make it difficult to move the unit under overhead cabinets when not in use. I'd rather squeeze and release the suction lever so you can move it around if needed. I have a hard time slipping, and it's also close to hitting fluorescent lights under the same cabinets. So imagine trying to gently lift the device to turn off the suction so you can move it, but in doing so it pops out and comes close to smashing those lightbulbs. This task is almost impossible for my wife, so I put the unit in a spot on the counter that doesn't have cabinets above it. But this area is more visible when I want to store a giant food processor. That's the only thing that makes sense to us. I also placed the instrument on a slip cloth with a smooth surface and a soft base. So when I want to move the unit forward to use I just pull the mat and when I'm done we just slide the mat to the back of the counter to get it out of the way. The suction cups stick to the mat and that seems to be all that is needed. When running, the suction cups on the mat work perfectly. We don't have to hold on to the mat or he'll start running. Therefore, this method worked best for us. Tip - just leave the metal blade in the bowl. Don't try to put it in the blade storage case as it is very confusing to put in and take out. The engineer was obviously enthusiastic about designing this blade storage case, but the bottom line is that the blade, which is likely to be used at least 90% of the time, is the hardest to get in and out of this case. So you could just put it in a bowl. Finally, I like that this thing is serious. I used a cutting blade and cut the sweet potato in half lengthwise and skipped to slice to make the baked yam/yam chips. The sweet potatoes are damn tough and he just punctured them. After all, none of us cares about that big locking handle. You'll need to pull it over the top of the bowl for it to snap into place. It worries me less than my wife does, and I understand its necessary function; Make sure the rubber band is pressed firmly to prevent the liquid from leaking out. But I think there must be a better way to do this. I would try to design the locking mechanism so that when you put the lid on you just pull a lever that locks both sides tight. Then this giant pen would not be necessary. Conclusion: For me it is the power of the device, the cutting function, the large bowl and the sealed bowl filled with liquid. I can personally avoid the other inconveniences mentioned.
