I noticed a loud clinking noise under the body of my 1998 Chevy C1500 so I examined it and found that the upper lug bushing on my passenger side shock absorber was worn. and was burned. This caused the eyelet to bounce when going over bumps etc. I installed a Fabtech lift kit and the FTS7333 shock that came with it was all black so I ordered another one and it fits perfectly, looks good and performs as it should. No more noise! The shock came with no band around it but it remained compressed, I was told this was normal. The kit includes many fasteners (as shown in the ad) for different truck models and bolt diameters. You may need a hydraulic press or C-clamp to insert a cylindrical metal grommet bushing. I used that and it worked. WD-40 is your friend.
