Review on Zelher P20 Bluetooth Headset: Over-The-Head, Cellphone Use, 21 Hour Talk Time, 4X Noise Cancelling, 1 Year Warranty by Russ Montgomery

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very happy overall - erratic calls and responses Blackberry

I've seen some negative reviews that indicated the positive reviews were fake so I was a bit concerned. But I also saw some very positive reviews that seemed legit. The price was good and it seemed to have the features I wanted, particularly the ability to connect to two different phones as I have a working Blackberry and personal iPhone. So I held my breath and jumped. In general I am very happy. It feels good, not too tight and definitely not flimsy, which has been one of my objections to another set of wireless earbuds I've bought before. And it connects to two different phones (not at the same time, of course, but that would be inconvenient anyway). The only reason I'm giving the headset 4 stars instead of 5 is the way they connect to each phone. And while part of me thinks this might be unfair since it appears to be a feature of phones and not necessarily a headset, I think an extra star would be for an item that works exactly as expected without it Crashes and no workarounds. On the plus side: - It was easy to connect to both of my phones - It works with both of my phones (iPhone 4 and Blackberry Bold) - The volume is actually quite loud, but there is a volume knob you can turn down , If you want. With my previous wired headset, I constantly pressed the speaker to my ear to hear everything. This one is so loud that I turn the volume down a few notches to a comfortable level and not worry about hearing everything. People I speak to tell me that my call quality is pretty good (I had an issue with caller echoes in my own ears on the iPhone when using my previous wired headset). Quality is good on both phones - I love the fact that the charging port is a standard micro USB so I can charge it with my existing Blackberry charging cable - battery life is good - I can press the button on the headset to connect to my iPhone and use its answering machine and voice dialing feature Negative side: - Although it works as described and expected with the iPhone for answering and voice dialing, it does not automatically dial on the iPhone if you are not using voice. On the iPhone, when you select a number and press "Call", you have to select another option that will connect the phone to the P20 to make a call. It's fine, but an extra hand step and looking down doesn't work properly on my Blackberry Bold. When a call comes in on the Blackberry and I press the headset button, the call is immediately ignored and the caller goes to voicemail. I want him to answer every call correctly. The workaround is to press the answer button on the phone and wait half a second for Bluetooth to automatically connect the call to the headset (which works fine). The same applies to dialing in on a Blackberry. I have to take the Blackberry and press the answer button, after that it connects perfectly. As these are the only issues I've had with the headset and there are good workarounds, I'm still happy with the device. I love that I can use it on both phones without having to manually plug and unplug the phone. The fact that they don't answer or call for no apparent reason is something I can deal with.
