This is my second nose piercing. I've had my first for over 10 years. It took me the first year to heal, including being pulled out and pierced on the opposite side of my nose. I've tried every metal I can think of: surgical steel, solid gold, silver plated steel plate, etc. Every time I hit or snagged my clothing with it, I got one of those hateful bumps. I had to take my nose ring off. I received one of these clear retainers and left it on for 4 months. Lo and behold, he was finally healed. This time I was already hip and knew that I would replace the stud of the piercing with a retainer. I told my piercer and she recommended titanium (I don't think I've ever tried it lol). In short, it heals like a beauty! Save yourself the years and trouble I've been through and buy this nose ring!
