I've been looking for a suitable laptop stand for a long time. Most of the other stands I looked at only raised the back or the entire laptop by about 6 or 8 inches. I set this to around 14 inches and I can still type! (It goes on, but when it's standing straight it's not possible to tilt the platform far back before the stand tips over. This is simple physics, not a design flaw.) I can lower it a little further using the slightly post rear-sloping platform to get a flatter writing surface, or I can stand it upright for viewing. In any case, it elevates my laptop for more comfortable use. The hinges it moves on are very stiff, which is a good thing. I don't worry about it falling off. Two lips to hold your laptop are deep enough for my old chunky Thinkpad W520 (circa 2011 - sue me I'm in love with its keyboard). The stand is strong and durable. It's a nice matte finish, similar to machined aluminum. I love clean lines! The logo is not as visible as I feared. He almost disappears. (See the last photo for how it looks in most cases.) Only at certain angles is the logo more visible. If I had to choose against it, I would say that more vents can be used here to keep the laptop cool. I haven't experienced any overheating in the short time I've had it, but it's something to watch out for. This is a great purchase for me and I wish I had found it years ago!
