I only bought this camera half a year ago. It was wonderful! Beautiful pictures, very portable, adorable design, love the touch screen and all the features! I didn't even use it much, I took it cautiously on vacation and to a couple of family gatherings. Now, 6 months after I had it, the touchscreen suddenly went pitch black! The camera is on, you can take a picture, zoom, whatever, but you can't see anything on the screen. I contacted local Sony support (I live outside the US) and they said the screen was dead and needed replacing. I've never dropped the camera, I've never handled it roughly, it doesn't even have a scratch, it looks brand new! I can only wonder how the screen went black unless I dropped it. The techies tell me it's going to cost two hundred dollars to fix! (Which, by the way, is only $25 less than what I've paid since I got it on sale, and half of what it's worth now). As disappointing as it can be dead after almost no use and only 6 months! I was also told that the warranty might not cover this.
