This underlayer is lined so the underside is fine fleece; Even the side stretch panels are reminiscent of Cocona, letting you breathe when it gets hot and steamy. As such, it was much warmer and more functional than most packable (unlined) jackets. Loops at the sleeve ends for the outer jacket. The cuffs have an "inner sleeve" extension but unfortunately no thumb holes. The zippered hand warmer pockets are a great addition as they keep your personal items inside and won't fly out when you bend down to tie your laces or go to the bathroom. There is actually an inside pocket (well hidden) on the left side, also with a zip. Nice surprise, not sure why they didn't mention it in the information description. Overall a great jacket, it feels thin but warm and fluffy. Basically, this is the warmest inner layer you can find without fully opening the Arctic Shell jacket. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have more colors (navy blue?) and that it doesn't have chest pockets. I know it's just a base layer, but given its high cost ($150 MSRP? Really? It's already a 5.11 case), I'd expect something more independent of the outer shell. I mean, if it's that good, why don't you just take it to the next step? You sell the damn thing separately.
