Quilter's Dream is my favorite cotton. The Request cotton is very thin. but I like it because then I can quilt myself on my little sewing machine. After the quilt is finished, most houses that are heated in winter are still warm and cozy. In fact, it's best layered when you want it warmer or cooler. If you want a very warm quilt that you either need to have a fancy new machine to quilt yourself or that you need to send in for long sleeve quilting, choose something thicker. I did too. But I've found that I enjoy doing something that I can do completely myself from start to finish with the sewing machine I already have. I personally find blankets made of this cotton quite warm and cuddly. If your house is heated or you live in a warmer region, this cotton should be quite satisfactory. Just don't expect it to be fluffy or fat.
