These gloves are warm and water-repellent, as confirmed by my indoor tests. Wearing them in 68 degrees got my hands uncomfortably warm in just a few minutes. When I intentionally spilled a glass of water on it, the water collected in drops and rolled off. My hand did not feel any moisture in the glove. The gloves look good and durable. The palm and bottom of the fingers are reinforced with a layer of rubber that makes it easier to grip. The clip holding 2 gloves together can be difficult to open. This is good for keeping gloves together, but bad for putting them on or taking them off. Also, when wearing both gloves, it is difficult to manipulate the adjustable wrist strap and strap at the end of the glove. But that's not surprising. These gloves are thick. They're not for detail work. I bought these to keep my hands warm and dry while shoveling/shoveling snow. I assume they will. In terms of sizing, I would recommend going one size up from your skinny size. I have large hands and bought the Extra Large size. This gives my fingers a little more room, which should provide extra warmth. Overall I gave the gloves 4 stars because I haven't actually tested them outdoors to see how they perform.
