I bought this system to replace my old wireless system. My old system kept losing the Wi-Fi connection, rendering it unusable. I decided to start over and buy this system so I can hook everything up so it always records correctly. The first step was deciding where to store the DVR. After deciding on the location, I had to determine the general location of each camera and plan the route for the wires. I bought wire clips and used them to attach the wire to the wall of my house. Everything was essentially plug and play after wiring. The wizard guides you through all the settings when you switch it on and all cameras are immediately ready for viewing without having to change any settings. After the wizard, there's a more detailed menu where you can configure motion detection and a bunch of other settings. The motion detection menu allows you to select specific areas to detect, as well as a privacy masking option. The cameras are very clear day and night with night vision. License plates are easy to read with this system. The hard drive is pre-installed. After setting up the dash cam, I downloaded and set up a remote viewing app. I used the app when positioning the cameras so I can see the exact view when they are installed. These mounts were more difficult to adjust compared to my old camera ball mounts. There are 2 different screws to adjust the position. I really like how quickly the cameras load onto my phone when viewing cameras remotely. The DVR comes with a remote control and a mouse, making it easy to navigate through the menus. Now I can safely let my kids play in the yard as I can watch them from my house while I work or cook dinner. I recommend this system to anyone willing to go the extra mile for cable management and still have a solid system that is easy to use and very reliable.
