The straps are placed under the armpits and the fit is unflattering unless you have a flat or small tummy.
The straps on this model are so wide apart that they almost reach the armpits. This, along with the unflattering fit, prompted me to return the trunks. I wanted to hide the tummy, which wasn't going to be huge but not flat. This swim top digs into your upper stomach if you don't have a flat stomach, creating a bulge that makes your stomach bulge more than it naturally should. This was disappointing as it came cup and strap sized so it fitted the bust area nicely.
