crop). Since then I have X100, X100T, X-T20, X-T3 and now X-H1. At the current price, the X-H1 is an absolute win. Some thoughts: 1) This camera is BIG. Especially after using the tiny X-T20 for a long time. This might be a disadvantage for some, especially if you have small hands, but I really like the size, especially when using this camera with large lenses like the XF 50-140 or even the Viltrox 85mm. But be aware that this is a big camera with a good deep grip (much more than any other camera) 2) IBIS is excellent. With the XF 50-140 I got usable handheld footage from this camera and sharp handheld shots in low light at slow shutter speeds (with still subjects, of course). Apparently, images of moving objects are still blurry in low light. 3) I've read a lot of complaints about the lack of an exposure compensation dial, but that's a silly complaint. In the latest firmware, you can install one of the rear dials to adjust exposure (without holding additional buttons). That really shouldn't stop you from buying this camera. 4) Autofocus is generally good but definitely NOT on par with the X-T3. If you've used the X-T20 or X-T2, autofocus works pretty much the same. The X-T3 (and I suspect newer cameras like the X-T30 or X-pro3) have superior autofocus speed and much better face/eye detection. So if autofocus is your priority over IBIS, I'd recommend the X-T3 or newer. However, autofocus on the X-H1 (and X-T20) has always been enough for me.5) Yes, the battery life is terrible. If you use it without a handle, make sure you have some spare batteries. It's not a big deal for me as I always carry some spares with me, but I know it's important to a lot of people. Although I will say it was a pleasure to use all my old batteries from previous cameras. 6) Eterna is great. I shoot most of the time with the default Provia film simulation for photos, sometimes with Classic Chrome, but Eterna is great for videos, especially if you need/want to save time. The video looks great straight out of the camera without much tweaking. LOVE IT. 7) The trigger is polarized and I see a lot of people hate it but I love it. It has a very, VERY soft feel and is surprisingly quiet. It took me a while to get used to the X-T20 and X-T3 but now I really like them. For what this camera can do and the fact that it packs a battery, it's an insanely good deal. I also have an X-T3 and usually carry an X-H1 with me (although both cameras are exceptional). I've long avoided this camera due to the many negative reviews, but couldn't help but try it out when the price dropped a second time. I'm glad I did because I really like it.
