I bought this to have a more accurate thermometer for use while brewing at home. It's much more reliable than the roast turkey thermometer I've used in the past and had to constantly recalibrate. The only downside is that there's no loop to attach the rope to, but it's really no problem just holding it in a jam. Highly recommend if you're not in the mood to spend money on thermaps but want to make sure you get to your mash temp.
