I received the 40 liter version of this bag. The bag is made of a typical waterproof PVC material. .The air valve allows you to reduce space by leaving the valve open to push the air out of the bag and then closing the valve to keep the air out. The best thing about the bag is that you attach the buckles to fixed points on your bike. for example posts or handrails or a frame. These fixed buckles attach to the buckles of the bag and you can leave the fixed buckles on the bike. So you can remove the bag simply by unzipping it and simply zip it up again on your next trip. It comes with a couple of extra straps that you can clip between the buckles if you want to attach an extra item to the bag. Bike crashes, mud puddles, creek crossings and rain. The bag never leaked or ripped, it held up great and did what I wanted it to do. GOOD! I would recommend this bag.
