Doesn't cut paper: cutlery and knife accessories

Was all I wanted for the first month. By this point the edges had faded, so I tried the included sharpener. The piece jumped out of its sheath before I could start. In the end it was sharpened enough again, but after that there was a small gap that makes them unusable. Can't even cut paper. However, the 30-day return window has just expired. Now all I have left are two oddly shaped knives with handles.
