Review on Goospery Galaxy Protective Function S21U SKY BLK by Jaleel Pruitt

Great case with a fatal (IMO) error

I've been using card cases like this for about 6 years. Every time I get a new phone, I buy all the promising card slot cases that fit that phone to test them out. I've had Goospery Sky Slide cases for both of my previous phones so I was certain this would be my daily driver for my S21 Ultra. Unfortunately it isn't. First the pros. I love how the polycarbonate back wraps around the camera area as opposed to the pure TPU cases found on most competitors. The sliding mechanism works excellently and can be easily opened with a fingernail in several places. Two cards fit in easily, and if you fold and iron the bill, it fits underneath. This case is also at least 1mm thinner than other dual card cases I've tested. Doesn't sound like much, but it's noticeable and helps this fat phone. Now for the cons. The area covering the keys doesn't fit, making it look very soft. It takes a lot more force to press the power and volume buttons than usual. Deal breaker. The back of the case is not rounded at all. It's almost completely flat at the back, with no transition to the sides, so the edges don't feel too comfortable in the hand. Finally, the ripple on the sides is too small. For example, all of the screen protection comes from the top and bottom edges that protrude from the screen, but the sides are almost flush with the screen. This enables convenient operation right up to the edge of the screen. However, if you place your phone face down, the top and bottom must rest on the surface or there is a risk of the screen coming into contact with the surface. Overall I really like this case, but the soft keys really kill it for me. Forgive Gusperi; this one comes back.
