Although the product is beautiful to look at, it is completely useless in the water. I have submerged it in water for several months and to this day have not noticed any problems when I poked it with my vacuum wand and saw the paint peel off which of course was eaten by one of my fish immediately. I took it out of the water and wanted to see how little force it takes to remove the color, so I grabbed a cotton swab. NO effort was required to remove the paint.
