The portrait is excellent! The quality of the lens allows you to shoot both portraits, nature and just indoors without a flash. Exhibitions, museums, animals - everything that cannot be shot with a flash will allow you to shoot this lens! For more details, see I have an album "Test Nikon D90 + Nikkor 50mm AF f / 1.4D" there are test photos. Some pros: 1) Aperture. At f/1.4, it is soft in the distance, but pleasant, and sharp up close. 2) From f / 2.0 is already sharp! 3) Metal bayonet 4) Focusing on the Nikon D90 is fast, but tracking focus is not as fast as AF-S lenses of course. Cons: Didn't notice any strong ones. 1) Expensive, relative to fellow f / 1.8. 2) You have to hold on to a short lens almost by the end, and when focusing, the front ring spins (the screwdriver works), but you canβt do anything here, itβs just a fact, not a drawback, you can get used to it quickly. 3) Chromatic aberration, red and blue borders also sometimes appear, but everything is removed in Photoshop, and I have noticed it so far only once. 4) Autofocus on my Nikon D90 sometimes misses and slightly and the photo comes out not sharp, if you manually twist the ring by 1-2 mm - it will hurt! (but this is more of a claim to the fotik)
