I bought two of these. We've previously been burned by home center switches that didn't work after installation, so we used an electrical tester to test both before installing. The second (medium) speed didn't work on any of them. Damn. We decided to go ahead and install one to check this out and indeed the average speed wasn't working. It goes from high to low to low and then off. At least this one turns off, so that's a plus. The two we bought from Heimcenter (HD) didn't have a shut off feature.
