I bought these toppers to put on my home jerseys. Since I could almost buy two of these for the price of a Franklin or a Rawlings, I figured I didn't have much to lose. A direct hit on a PVC rod, plus non-deflection of the base, is equivalent to a broken thread. I learned it the hard way. On the photo is my version 1.0 t-shirt.
