First of all I will be 70 years old in 2021. The eye makeup I loved in my 30's or even 60's doesn't suit me anymore so I had to adapt. I wanted a SKINNY look with smoky eyes but also lightened the middle a bit. I also wanted a shadow that I can wear alone to give a VERY subtle highlight effect. This is where caramel, espresso and crème brûlée come in, which I can wear individually or together. CARAMEL! - This is my favorite because I can easily dab or sweep the brush across my eyelids in the crease. I usually use crème brûlée just under my brow, but if I only have one in my bag, it's THIS. Even on my 70 year old eyelids, a little bit lasts and doesn't overdo it. ESPRESSO: COLOR - I like that it's almost translucent, not quite matte, but a very slightly shimmery satin. I still like browns, but they have to be the right shade and not heavy. IF YOU are looking for a dark brown color in your face, this is not it. I like to apply it by building up on the top outer ends of my eyelids, in the crease, but again: THIN. - it was so subtle I took my powder eyeshadow palette and added a darker brown to the crease, THE LAYERS ARE GORGEOUS. Can be used almost like a primer. I've used darker and lighter powders on top and it helps set them in place. CONSISTENCY - how to describe it, is it like a creamy powder or a powder cream? It's definitely creamy, I love how it's even applied with my fingers but then feels soft, not greasy or oily at all, like a jar of whipped cream. EXCELLENT.ONE? - SOME might be able to just apply this shade to the eyelids and go, but at almost seventy I'm getting a lighter shade for the upper eyelid and under the brow. This one won't make it without some enlightenment - FOR ME. For you, if you have a younger eyelid, it can be used alone for a subtle light brown shimmer. PRICE - OK I don't know HOW you can beat the price. I've worn the palette of eyeshadows from high to low and it works and looks more expensive and therefore more expensive. CRÉME BRULE: COLOUR: EXACTLY what I wanted! I've read that some people say they are too shiny, I didn't find it at all. It has a slight sheen and is transparent. I just apply it with my fingers. I make sure my fingers are very clean and dry and just blend it in with my fingers after first applying some Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Multipurpose Concealer (LOVE this product but I think any concealer you use for the eyes will work). Again VERY subtle. I apply it all over the top of the eye, under the eyebrow and a little in the inner corner of the eye. TEXTURE: Again, the texture is great. SLIDES, STAYS, and I have no problem wrinkling it. NOW it won't smooth your wrinkles, but it won't tighten them either. BOTTOM INFO: At this price I bought mine on sale for about five dollars with change. Check out YouTube videos of people working with Revlon Colorstay cream. shades of eyeshadow, and if you like what you see, grab one or two. Don't break the bank. I'll get at least one or two more.
