Review on πŸ“» The ARCPT300W: American Red Cross Axis Safety Hub & Weather Radio with USB Cell Phone Charger by Wendy Zhao

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good . but has flaws

Pros - Decent build, crank feels solid. Loading without pleasure is normal. Really charges new phones. HTC Evo 5v USB connection tested and successful. However, be prepared to practice. It is highly recommended to do this with at least half of the dyno's built-in battery - the dyno's onboard battery! Perfect. Mine is connected to AC and is located next to the battery. Always fully charged and ready to use in seconds. - Works with standard AA too - Decent reception and volume - NOAA reception / WB channels are pretty good. THIS FUNCTION DOES NOT CONNECT DIRECTLY TO THE MAINS. The documentation is terrible. The "Feature" alarm and NOAA channels are not documented at all. The user has to research the frequencies in his area. - 4 LEDs of very poor quality and the light output is just tolerable. The red LED is almost useless because it's so weak. - There is no solar charging on this device - The plastic/rubber back cover over the battery cover and connectivity is cheap and unreliable - The antenna is not flush with the device - Overall ergonomics are not great - This device is NOT waterproof or weatherproof. Beware. Conclusion A lot is better than nothing and overall a decent device. The price is too high for what you get, but it delivers enough power to charge a cellphone, which most devices can't. I'll give it a pass, but I'll replace it with something better when technology allows. It will work for you. It is currently said to be the best in its class, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
