I'm an adult with a small mouth, so the youth size is perfect for me. But I'm sure the adult size will feel and be soft in the average adult's mouth. I have a TMJ and my dentist made night shield broke twice before my insurance allowed me to get another one. So I decided to try this after my dentist told me to just buy something without a prescription until I could get another one. I love these things! I've tried different ones and found this one to be the most comfortable! And as a huge bonus, they were the cheapest I've ever tried! I have found that inserting them into the top teeth with your fingers rather than biting them is best for me. After placing it on my top teeth, I bite down on it very gently, just enough to leave a small imprint of my bottom teeth on it. I grind my teeth terribly so they usually only last about three months. But they are so expensive that I don't mind.
