I liked this idea, but it didn't fit on the broom or mop. They kept slipping or falling. We screwed it to the back of our laundry room door because we don't have free wall space in our small laundry room to mount it. Well, the broom fell between the wall and the dryer. As a result, the door could not be opened. So I had to go out the front door with the house key, go to the shed door, open it and go inside to get the broom, take it and open the door. We ended up hanging the brooms on hooks, not columns. It makes them flap every time you open or close the door. I could make the brooms a little thicker so they don't slip, but that's too much work. If you have wall space, wall mount it and it will probably work just fine. I had to work with what I had, which was the back of the door. I wouldn't buy it again but it might work for others.
