Received them in no time as I couldn't afford the heavier models and I had a day trip of several hundred miles ahead of me. I like them. As far as I know, this version is really only for wind protection. I didn't expect that they would actually protect my hands from my hands or limbs. Installation was very easy, although almost everything on the handlebars of my 2011 Suzuki DL650 V-strom had to be moved and adjusted. The effect was immediate! warmer and drier hands on cold, damp morning and evening rides. Another unexpected benefit was that in order to adjust the height of the handguards, I had to move the sight mirrors a little closer to the center, which greatly reduced helmet impact at speed! FINE! I would describe these handguards as an absolute must for any motorcyclist.
