Another Great Read by Karen M. McManus

Another Great Read by Karen M. McManus Twenty-five years ago, Mildred Storey sent her children (who were all in college) a message telling them about family parted happiness and told them that she never wanted to see them again. Adam, Anders, Allison and Archer insist they have no idea why their mother interrupted them. And when Mildred sends her three grandchildren (Aubrey, Millie, and Jonah), whom she has never met, a letter inviting them to work at the family's Storey Resort on Cape Cod for the summer, her parents insist that they go. Happiness can return to history through her children. But as soon as they show up, Aubrey, Millie and Jonah realize something is wrong. Why would she invite them over but almost never spend time with them? They soon learn that the Storey family has dark secrets and are about to find out why their grandmother cut off all contact with her children. I really like this book. I was captivated from the first page. The book is told from the points of view of Aubrey, Millie and John, followed by some chapters from when Allison was 18 years old. I really enjoyed getting to know Aubrey, Millie and John. They are cousins who hardly know each other and are different in every way. And yet their differences fit together so well. I really enjoyed their interactions and how they brought out the best in themselves and although they were strangers they were also family and supportive of one another. or pull either. I was so in love with the cousins and trying to understand what happened many years ago. We get hints here and there and I thought I got it, but I was wrong. My only problem with the book was what happened. When it was revealed, it seemed too far-fetched. Also, I really enjoyed it and can't wait for Karen McManus' next book.
