Review on Skechers CUSHION 54450 Sneaker Black Charcoal by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not as soft as you might think from my experience.

I am 72 years old. I go for a 30-45 minute walk 5 times a week. I had 3 knee surgeries and wanted to walk in really soft shoes. I have found that despite the really thick sole and the identified "cushioning", this shoe does not cushion particularly well. I've worn them before and I don't think I can return them. They're not terrible to me, just not that good. I weigh 160 pounds. I find the padding too soft. I have a pair of Rockport casual shoes that offer the same or even better cushioning than these with less foam in the sole. These shoes are bigger and I feel like my foot is just coming down from a great height and kind of trembles when it hits the ground. Some people in the reviews say they love them...so sort it out. They are well made and wide enough. I couldn't use the insole because it was too tight.

Pros
  • OUTSOLE/BASE: Lightweight, durable and flexible, the parametric mesh outsole provides multi-surface traction. Flex grooves in the forefoot aid flexibility and ensure a smooth transition. Impact zone in the midfoot increases efficiency with every step.
Cons
  • A few little things
