Review on 🎧 Powerbeats2 Wireless In-Ear Headphone - Pink/Gray: Unleash your Music with Style" by Carmen Polk

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great headset, but with a caveat.

UPDATE: A year later I fixed it with super glue to hold everything together. The controller falls apart. Also, the battery only lasts 3 hours even when fully charged. It's still usable for regular use, but no longer for the gym, running, or anything else involving exercise or sweating. It's still good but the quality is really bad for a slightly expensive product. I'm withdrawing my recommendation as the quality doesn't justify the price.==[Original Rating/Review]===So far so good. The first product I received was really defective so I have to return it but the last one works fine. To be honest I very much doubt I will buy this product as some of the quality reviews are really bad. And since my first order was defective, I really want to make sure it's worth it. However, I noticed that the bad reviews were given a few years ago, so I hope the quality will improve. Also, some of my friends who bought the same product from another store highly recommended it and said they hadn't heard any complaints. So it can just be an Amazon shipment that got a bad batch or something. Also, I didn't have any trouble with solo beats, so I relied on that experience. Also, I was looking for a good wireless sweatproof headset for work. Design: I love the ergonomic design of the earhook. It wasn't too tight but it fit my ear perfectly. The earplugs were enough for me. But I have a medium sized ear so it fits me. The color combination is excellent. The position of the controller was placed in such a way that I could easily reach it without much effort and I didn't have to take off my headset to control it. Although I prefer round wires because I felt the flat wires stuck to my skin more than the round ones. But that's just me. Functionality: Well, I think everyone will agree that the sound of the Beats headset is excellent. Is it worth it? I think so, as there were similar headphones with great sound in the same price range. I like that it turns off automatically when I'm not using it. The battery lasts 6 hours on a full charge. I think it only takes me 1.5 hours but less than 2 hours to fully charge it. I've tried a 15 minute charge when that gives 1 hour of use and I think it does. Although I haven't had a chance to fully test the hands-free call yet. I've just made a few and I've encountered no problem. Haven't tried the hands on running and sweating yet so I'll update this review when the time comes. Quality: After the exchange, I was really concerned about the quality of the product. I tested most of the features to make sure they work. Loudness, tone, playing songs with high pitched sounds, songs with mostly bass notes and their combinations. The sound is still great after a month of active use. I use this 8 to 10 hours a week during my regular run and at my gym. I've used it twice while running in the rain and it still works. So far nothing is broken or loose. I know 1 month may not be long enough to rate the quality of this product, but some reviews experienced a quality issue within the 2nd week of use. So I think I can say it's a pretty good quality. "Plus: Great sound, easy to use. Cons: Has historical quality issues on some stocks. I recommend this product for runners/active people who want a great sounding, wireless and sweat/water resistant headset. However, I would like to stress that you need to fully test the product for about a week to make sure you don't receive a bad product. Maybe Amazon caught a bad batch of products. I will definitely update this review if I run into any issue or in 6 months to report quality and battery life.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Too dull
