So Far So Good - Cats

I recently discovered that my almost one year old cat has horrible gum disease over her molars. He was born wild and had severe socialization problems so I couldn't teach him oral care at a young age but I didn't think it could get that bad this early (he's only had molars for a few months!). . His gums were bright red, bled profusely when brushing his teeth, and he had *horrible* breath. I have used Maxi-Care daily for 2 weeks and have had good results. His breath no longer smells of death, and he bleeds a lot less when brushing his teeth (there wasn't any last night!). And he likes the taste. No foaming at the mouth or behavior suggestive of medication. He's better off with that (he's *really* picky about his food) than pet toothpaste. I have researched a lot about oral care products and was very concerned about choosing the right product as many of them contain toxic ingredients. Of course, I haven't used it for a long time and will edit this review if the results change, but for now I highly recommend it. I may still need to get him through vet cleanings and antibiotics but I will continue to use Maxi-Care for my cat's oral care.
