This is the only thermostat for the Toyota 3.4 liter engine that works! After struggling with an overheating issue for almost a year after replacing the timing belt and installing a new water pump and thermostat (2pcs) at a local shop, I finally fixed the problem and removed the thermostat entirely which fixed the problem Overheating issue has been resolved. I ordered an OEM thermostat and as soon as I opened the box I saw a huge difference (photo download link is broken). not working). The bimetallic spring of the factory thermostat is about twice as large as the spring of the standard thermostat. Further research allowed for a better understanding of the problem. The OEM thermostat is described as a high flow thermostat while most others are not. It's worth the money! If I can upload a photo I will do so later.
